Sixth New Bird for St.Kitts in 2017!

On Sunday, December 10, 2017, Percy Hanley was birding with two visiting birders from Puerto Rico. While up by Romney Manor, they observed an energetic bird around the clock tower. After careful observation, it was easily identified as a Chestnut Sided Warbler. This was great news as this was the first sighting of a Chestnut Sided Warbler in St. Kitts!

Unfortunately, no pictures were obtained, but the sighting was confirmed by all three birders. A Chestnut Sided Warbler, is a small bird between 4.5–5.25 inches, yellow cap, reddish band along sides, with white underparts.

This is the SIXTH new bird spotted in St.Kitts for 2017. Yes, a really productive year!
