The S.C.S.C.B. (Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds ) has recommended that the second Saturday in October every year be designated as World Migratory Day in the Caribbean, and have asked for Bird counts in your place of residence. Although the official celebration is one particular day, the counts can be undertaken over any one day or number days to suit an individual’s own availability.
In 2009, the author sighted 62 species in St. Kitts over 2 days, on Friday 7th October and Monday 10th October (See Bird Report)
In 2010, the author spotted 67 species in 2 days in St .Kitts, on Friday 8th October and Monday 11th October. (See Bird Report)
