FIRST NEW BIRD FOR 2015

Our friends in Nevis have reported the sighting of a new bird for the Federation of St.Kitts & Nevis. Mr. Michael Biro observed the specie on the trail to Mt. Nevis, on 15 February 2015. It is a Spectacled Thrush (Turdus Nudigenis), and was formerly known as the Bare-eyed Robin and also a Bare-eyed Thrush.
The Spectacled Thrush is found in the Southern Caribbean Islands, and is also reported in Guadeloupe, and its range is reported to be expanding northwards.
This brings the unofficial list of Birds sighted in St.Kitts & Nevis to 204! Not bad to two really small islands!
